Formula Renault UK champion Tom Blomqvist has been named as British Club Driver of the Year in the opening presentation of this evening's AUTOSPORT Awards. The British-born 16-year-old, son of rally legend Stig Blomqvist, narrowly beat Lewis Williamson to the FRenault crown for Fortec in his second year of car racing, having started out in the category's Swedish and North European series in 2009. "It was a slow start, we struggled a bit at the start, but worked hard with the team and off-track too," said Blomqvist, who was presented with the award by former Formula 1 and motorcycle world champion John Surtees.
